Biography

Professor of chemistry, graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry, Wrocław University of Technology. Specialist in the field of materials science and nanotechnology. Author of over 120 scientific publications, cited more than 900 times. Fellow of the German Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the Welch Foundation in the United States. Initiator and coordinator of the Lower Silesian Centre for Advanced Technologies (2004-2007), co-founder and first President of Wroclaw Research Centre EIT+ (2008-2012), Director of the International Laboratory of High Magnetic Fields and Low Temperatures PAS (2012-2016 ), co-founder of company Phoennix LLC incubating technology startups.

Expert of the European Commission and the World Bank for Smart Specialization Strategies and expert in Horizon 2020 EU Programme. Initiator of program Prescription for Poland and PLUS IP, linking Polish researchers working in Poland with Polish scientists working in the US in the field of Digital Health. Honorary Ambassador of Polish Congresses, Chairman of Societas Humboldtiana Polonorum in Wroclaw. Vice president and co-initiator of the technology cluster Wałbrzych Natural Resources. Founding member of the Foundation for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Nanonet and Foundation Semper Naturalae. He got, among others, Bronze Cross of Merit and the Bronze Medal&Merit for the Province and the City of Wroclaw”. Currently Miller is coordinator of R&D projects at Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences in the regional Program “Green Valley” developing innovations in agro-food sector. He is also supporting scouting and creation of technology startups.
