Dr Ilona Scudło is a Senior Specialist in the Specialty Formulations Research Group at the Institute for Renewable Resources Chemistry (formerly the “Blachownia” Institute of Heavy Organic Synthesis), part of the Łukasiewicz Research Network. She has been associated with the Institute since 2011, when she joined the Eco-Friendly Products Department, conducting research on advanced condensation process technologies as well as product separation, purification, and rectification methods for the chemical industry.
Throughout her professional career, she has gained extensive experience in the development of chemical technologies, process stream analysis, by-product management, and the design and execution of laboratory-, pilot-, and semi-technical-scale research.
Her research expertise focuses on the synthesis and selection of specialty additives for industrial operational fluids and products, including lubricants, hydraulic fluids, industrial liquids, antifreeze agents, and preservation products. A particular area of her interest is the physicochemical modification of nanomaterials for industrial applications. She has extensive experience in the implementation and management of research, development, and innovation (R&D&I) projects, including those conducted in close cooperation with industry. She is a co-author of several technological developments, patent applications, scientific publications, and numerous conference presentations.
Dr. Scudło participated in the “Implementation Doctorate” Programme at the Silesian University of Technology. Her doctoral dissertation, focused on functionalized carbon nanomaterials as performance-enhancing components for industrial lubricants, was prepared under the supervision of Prof. Sławomir Boncel.
