Born in 1985 in Germany, he is Manager of interdisciplinary Networks (NanoSilver, nanoInk and NanoAnalytics) at the Cluster Nanotechnology / Nanoinitiative Bayern GmbH in Würzburg, Germany. He studied chemistry at the University of Bayreuth, focusing on the synthesis of complex nanomaterials and nanostructures. During his following academic career at the University of Bayreuth and the Leibniz Association in Saarbrücken (Institute for New Materials) he developed new materials (e.g. for catalysis and hydrogen storage applications) and innovative techniques like in-situ electron microscopy in liquids. He is expert for mesostructured nanomaterials and nanocomposites, focusing on the synthesis and the correlative characterization of metallic and non-metallic nanoparticulate systems.
