He has been a research and teaching staff member at the Faculty of Metals Engineering and Industrial Computer Science (since 2006) and at the Academic Centre for Materials and Nanotechnology AGH (since 2013). In 2014, he founded a research group at the Academic Centre for Materials and Nanotechnology AGH, which in 2020 established the Department of Materials Engineering, where he became the Head. Since September 2024, he has also served as the Deputy Director of the Centre, and from 1st September 2025, he will assume the role of Director. The research group he established has been working closely with the industry from the very beginning, collaborating with entrepreneurs in the design and implementation of new materials and technologies. His scientific output includes works on micro and nanostructural research, phase transformation analysis, iron, nickel, titanium alloys, bioresorbable zinc alloys, multicomponent nanomaterials, as well as the design, production, and characterization of new materials, including 3D printing of metals. He is the author or co-author of over 300 scientific publications. He has supervised 8 PhD students and has been the supervisor for 118 master’s and engineering theses. He is also a co-author of 4 granted patents and one granted utility model. He has participated as a leader or principal investigator in 38 research projects and over 120 research and development works financed by the industry.
