Dr. Maciej Serda is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Chemistry, University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. He earned his PhD summa cum laude from the University of Silesia, focusing on anti-cancer iron-chelators. Dr. Serda’s postdoctoral work at Rice University and the University of Chicago honed his expertise in fullerene nanomaterials, leading to significant contributions in cancer nanotechnology. His research has resulted in over 40 publications and numerous patents and patent applications. Dr. Serda has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Kosciuszko Foundation Scholarship and the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education’s scholarship for young scientists. He is actively involved in supervising graduate students and has established major international collaborations, particularly in the field of cancer treatment using carbon nanomaterials. Dr. Serda’s ongoing research focuses on developing fullerene-based theranostic agents for pancreatic cancer treatment.
