The conference was opened by Dr. Eng. Adam Szatkowski, MBA, President of the NANONET Foundation, and Mr. Maciej Biskupski, Deputy Mayor of Katowice. This year’s edition featured two plenary lectures delivered by two globally recognized nanotechnology experts:
InterNanoPoland 2024 provided a space for dialogue between the scientific and business communities. The 2024 edition was held entirely as an in-person event at the Novotel Hotel in Katowice.
The main organizers of the event were the NANONET Foundation for the Support of Nanosciences and Nanotechnology and the Silesian Nano Cluster, whose mission is to create a platform for cooperation among entrepreneurs, scientific institutions, public administration, and business support organizations. Their goal is to enhance the role of nanotechnology in shaping the innovative economic future of Silesia and Poland. During InterNanoPoland 2024, key topics relevant to scientific and economic development were discussed. The primary focus was on the future of nanotechnology, including its opportunities, potential, and risks. Other important discussions covered the commercialization of research, government support for nanotechnology implementation, and intellectual property protection.
One of the key highlights of the conference was the discussion panel “Circular Economy – Opportunities and Possibilities”, during which participants debated the lack of awareness among scientists, entrepreneurs, and students regarding the core principles of the circular economy.
In collaboration with the Royal Society of Chemistry, we were able to grant special awards to speakers and participants in the poster session. A special committee evaluated all presentations and awarded complimentary membership in the Royal Society of Chemistry.
The InterNanoPoland 2024 event played a significant role in the internationalization of the Polish nanotechnology sector, showcasing the potential of Polish companies and research institutions in the European and global markets. The conference contributed to fostering connections between business and science and defining new trends in the industry’s development.
