How to prepare your poster?

“Flash Poster” Contest at the Poster Session

Would you like to present your research findings at the poster session in front of conference participants in the form of a flash presentation? Apply for the “Flash Poster” contest!

What is it about?

The “Flash Poster” contest offers an opportunity to showcase your research results through a 4-minute presentation. After the presentation, participants and jury members will have time for a Q&A session.

Who can participate?

  • Master’s and PhD students
  • Young researchers (up to 5 years after completing their PhD)

Contest Rules

  1. Apply by selecting “Type of presentation -> Poster -> Flash poster” in the registration form and submit your abstract by September 1, 2025, through the “Abstracts Submission / Zgłoszenia wystąpień i posterów” form at the provided link.
  2. By September 17, you will receive confirmation of whether your submission has been accepted for the “Flash Poster” contest.
  3. Presentation: During the poster session, participants will present their research in a quick format (4-minute presentation + 4-minute Q&A session).

Additional Information

  • The language of the presentation and contest is English.
  • Authors must be present at their posters throughout the conference.
  • Not being selected for the contest does not exclude participants from taking part in the poster session.

 


Poster Presentation

Poster Session Theme: Research and Technology for the Development of the Nanotechnology Industry.

Poster Size: A1 (594×841 mm) or B1 (707×1000 mm)

Authors who are not selected for the “Flash Poster” contest will not give oral presentations but must be present with their posters during the session, ready to discuss their work and answer questions.

Recommendations for Poster Preparation

Title Section:

  • Should include the title (clear and visible from 5-6 meters — text size above 72 pt) and author(s)’ contact details.
  • Adding a photo of the author(s) can facilitate initial interaction.

Colors:

  • Use neutral background colors (shades of gray, beige, etc.).
  • Different colors can be used to highlight sections of the poster, but avoid excessive use of colors.

Text:

  • Avoid too much text—use bullet points and short phrases.
  • Sans-serif fonts (e.g., Arial) are recommended for titles and headings (approx. 36 pt).
  • Main text should be easily readable (at least 18 pt).

Graphics:

  • Posters are primarily visual presentations.
  • Elements should be readable from 3 meters.
  • Use visual aids such as arrows, charts, diagrams, illustrations, and maps.
  • Avoid tables with excessive text.

The poster must be displayed on the first day of the conference in the designated area assigned by the Organizer.
