Dawid Janas is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Silesian University of Technology, Poland (SUT). He received a PhD degree from the University of Cambridge, UK in 2014. After a post-doctoral position at the same university, he joined SUT in 2016 and established the Functional Nanomaterials Group. He was a Visiting Professor in the US (Fulbright Fellowship), Japan, Malaysia, and Finland. His research portfolio includes over 65 peer-reviewed journal papers. He coordinated or participated in several projects including Starting Grant (ERC), Proof of Concept (ERC), the 7th Framework Program (European Commission), OPUS (National Science Center), POLONEZ (National Science Center), Leader (National Center for Research and Development). Dr. Janas is a recipient of a number of prestigious awards including Silesian Scientific Award, STEM Impact Award, START Award, Scholarship for Young Outstanding Researchers from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and so forth. His research is focused on the synthesis, modification, and application of nanostructured materials.
