John Bulmer is a distinguished graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. After serving ten years in the U.S. Air Force, including two deployments to Afghanistan, he earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Metallurgy at the University of Cambridge, where he later served as a research associate at the Institute for Manufacturing. Following experience at a Boston start-up, he joined the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in Dayton, Ohio, as a National Research Council Senior Researcher. His work focuses on leveraging statistics and artificial intelligence to design efficient experiments and draw strong conclusions in the development of advanced carbon-based conductors. He has published on topics including carbon nanotube synthesis and processing, electronic transport phenomena such as superconductivity, and microwave generation and materials characterization.
