Łukasiewicz – Institute of Electrical Engineering, which since 1946 has been providing support to companies from the electrical engineering industry in the following areas:
Testing and certification of electrotechnical products
Łukasiewicz – Institute of Electrical Engineering has accredited research laboratories that enable carrying out appropriate tests. The research concerns lighting equipment, light sources, lighting power systems, extension cords, electric toys, road signs with variable messages, household appliances, power tools, electric machines, switches overcurrent and residual current devices for home applications, high and low voltage DC and AC switchboards, fuses, circuit breakers, transformers, busbars and many others. Details in: (Laboratory services). Regardless of the laboratory tests conducted, the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Electrotechnical Institute has within its structures the Electrotechnical Products Certification Department. The department’s employees provide customers and product recipients with reliable, impartial, independent and complete certification of product compliance with the requirements of applicable subject standards. Research and development support for companies
Employees of the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Electrical Engineering provide research and development (R&D) support to companies in various fields of electrical engineering. We develop and modernize products and devices. We have experience in the design of static converters, we develop high-power converters for use in electric traction and power engineering to improve the quality of electricity and for large renewable energy installations. We produce high-power special chokes and transformers operating at a higher frequency, especially for power electronic systems. We design energy-saving LED lighting tailored to customer needs, we develop electric drives for bicycles, cars, locomotives, we design battery energy storage systems, wireless electricity transmission systems, low-speed wind generators and other electric machines. We conduct consulting activities in our field.
Joint scientific and research projects
Łukasiewicz – Institute of Electrical Engineering conducts scientific activities as part of domestic and foreign, mainly European, projects. The subject of research are modern electrotechnical materials such as: photovoltaic cells, magnetic materials, fuel cells, composite materials, electrotechnical ceramics, powder technologies, piezoelectric materials, electrical insulating compounds for special applications, electrical insulating varnishes and enamels, nanotechnologies and many others.
