Helena is an Application Specialist at Anton Paar Poland.
She graduated from the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Science at the Lodz University of Technology. She carried out her master’s research as a scholarship holder in the Pomost project at the Institute of Medical Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Her task was to examine the relationship between proteins in the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the causative agent of tuberculosis.
Helena’s further research, also conducted at the Polish Academy of Sciences, was focused on human colon cancer cells. It mainly explored the area of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in cancer cells, which represents early stages of metastasis and is a promising target in colorectal cancer (CRC) therapy. Helena and her team investigated the regulation of miRNA expression during this phenotypic change.
Science runs in her blood, but Helena loves working with people, so being a Technical Sales Specialist constitutes the perfect combination. Anton Paar is a company where each customer creates new scientific challenges. Currently, Helena is an Application Specialist and is responsible for customer support and measurements in the field of particle size, rheology and surface characteristics. For several years, the nano area has been her second home.
