As the field of additive manufacturing and printed/hybrid electronics matures, new opportunities are rapidly being created. Reduction of electronics waste through an entirely new approach to packaging; elimination of toxic chemicals during manufacturing; cost reduction by integration of printed components into integrated printed systems using inexpensive, sustainable materials; thin and flexible form factors; easy product customization even at small scales; decentralized production with short supply chains – these are just some of the intrinsic advantages of this budding technology platform. A new class of electronics devices is emerging, with applications in areas unattainable with traditional “hard” electronics. Panamint is a team of scientists, nanotechnologists, designers, industry veterans, and other rascals, who have come together with a vision of taking printed electronics to the next level. We are building a portfolio of innovative printed components that include proprietary printed displays, batteries/energy storage solutions, sensors, and functional inks, all as part of a larger goal of integration into systems and devices with a focus on sustainability and novel functionality. Our current application areas include monitoring of perishable goods and cradle-to-grave product lifecycle tracking.
